Register, choose a pathway, learn, build and submit

This guide brings the practical decisions into one place: price, deadlines, category eligibility, equipment, file requirements and the exact account workflow.

1 · Registration price and deadlines

Choose who will manage the participant

Registration remains available until the deadline for the relevant pathway. Registering on the deadline does not extend the submission time.

Category selection happens after registration.

Pay for the student place first. The exact Coding or Robotics A/B/C pathway is selected when an authorised user starts a submission in the RCC Dashboard.

Coding Challenge — no robot required

Every Coding pathway uses the 2026 mission, but the software, year-level guidance and evidence differ.

Robotics Challenge — choose the correct hardware

Robotics A and B require the official kit and a custom Pose model. Robotics C is the open-platform pathway.

Official-kit rule

Robotics A/B

Use only the Official AI Mission Robot Kit for the robot build. The student must train the Pose Classification model used to control the robot.

Open-platform rule

Robotics C

The platform must be school-approved and the original source must remain editable. If the project uses AI, include its working model URL.

Shared evidence rule

Show a working robot

The video must make the controls, movement or mechanism, code, testing and student learning visible.

5 · Video, SB3, ZIP and model URL

Prepare the exact submission evidence

Upload files directly in the RCC Dashboard. Do not submit participant YouTube, Google Drive, GitHub or Scratch links in place of the required files.

Coding A

Video only

MP4 or MOV · maximum 5 minutes · maximum 1 GB. No SB3 or Project Note is required.

Coding B/C

Video + SB3

MP4 or MOV · maximum 5 minutes · maximum 1 GB, plus original SB3 up to 100 MB. Coding C also adds the exported custom Pose model URL.

Robotics A/B

Video + SB3 + model URL

MP4 or MOV · maximum 6 minutes · maximum 1.5 GB, plus original SB3 up to 100 MB and the exported custom Pose model URL.

Robotics C

Video + editable project

MP4 or MOV · maximum 6 minutes · maximum 1.5 GB. Upload SB3 directly, or one ZIP up to 100 MB containing editable non-SB3 source. Add the model URL when AI is used.

Wait for every file to show Ready before finalising.

A completed transfer is not the same as a verified submission. Check video playback, duration, file format and every required project or model field in the draft.

6 · The participant journey

Payment → student → eLearning → team → direct upload

The same seven checkpoints apply whether a school coordinator or a linked individual account manages the entry.

  1. 01
    Register and pay

    Purchase school places or one individual place. Confirm the paid capacity in the RCC Dashboard.

  2. 02
    Add the named student

    Schools add students individually or by CSV. A paid place must be allocated to a named student before account access, submission or certification.

  3. 03
    Open eLearning

    The named participant receives the guided learning and course enrolments attached to the authorised RCC account.

  4. 04
    Choose an eligible pathway

    Check year guidance, participant type, equipment and AI requirements before starting the draft.

  5. 05
    Create a team only when needed

    Eligible teams contain 2–5 active students from the same school. Robotics A is individual-only; Robotics B is team-only.

  6. 06
    Upload directly in RCC

    Select the student or team, then upload the video, editable project and model URL required by that pathway.

  7. 07
    Verify, consent and finalise

    Wait for Ready status, confirm the required permissions and finalise. The entry then locks; later changes require administrator approval.

Included learning recognition

STEM Challenge

Registered students can be recognised for substantial progress in their assigned Mathematics, Coding, Logic Mission Challenge and typing learning by 25 September 2026. It is automatically scored; no separate video or project submission is required.
