Safe Coding Options for Schools and Students

Welcome to the Creative Coding Challenge Pathway B.

We understand that some schools, including NSW Department of Education schools, may be limited in which coding platforms they are permitted to use. In particular, Scratch Online may not be available in some schools because it includes online community features such as public sharing, comments, and social interaction.

βœ… To support all teachers and students, we provide safer coding options for this challenge.

🎯 Students May Use:

Choose the option that best suits your school’s policy and device environment. All options below are designed for safe, offline-capable coding.

It does not include Scratch Online’s public sharing, chat, comments, or social community features.

πŸ“ How Students Submit Their Work

Students can safely create their projects at school or at home, save their work locally, and submit their completed project file through the challenge system.

  • βœ“Create projects using any of the safe coding options above
  • βœ“Save project files (.sb3) to computer, school drive, OneDrive, or Google Drive
  • βœ“Submit the completed file through the RCC portal when ready

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ« Guidance for Teachers
